Q. How should I prepare for my first interview?
A. You can prepare for an interview in two crucial ways. First by nailing your own elevator pitch, your strengths, and why you’re a total asset to their company, and second, by understanding the organization you’re pursuing and how they fit into the industry as a whole.
In addition, spruce up your job-specific knowledge by reviewing the social media feeds of the companies you’re interviewing for. Then reread the specific job description and get the gist of the company’s corporate culture. Jot down any questions you may have—this is an absolute must.
An interview is your biggest opportunity to learn what an employer’s all about and to see if they’re a good fit for you.
